TNB Roundtable: How to Do More with the Nonprofit Data You Already Have

Tuesday, March 7, 2017
10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Tech Networks of Boston (TNB), and TNB Labs (TNBL) are pleased to invite nonprofit professionals to a Roundtable session on how nonprofits can do more with the data that they already have. Our featured guest will be Catherine D'Ignazio, assistant professor of civic media and data visualization at Emerson College.

Here is what Catherine says about this session:

'Collecting data is time-consuming and storing data takes resources. But to be "data-driven," you don't always have to start a new initiative. You can leverage the resources that your organization is already collecting. This interactive workshop will help you and your nonprofit organization:

  • Understand more of your knowledge assets as "data" (You might have previously just thought of them as "documents" or "lists" or "piles of stuff over there").

  • Think creatively about how you can leverage this existing data for new insights, data-driven decision-making opportunities and creative communication possibilities with your constituency or your funders.

'You will leave with a better understanding of your organization's resources as well as developing a keener "data mindset." '
